Overview: Jesus speaks in parables to conceal (10-15) Jesus reveals in the parables as well, explaining them to His disciples The hardened heart has even the Word taken away from him (4, 12, 19) The impulsive heart doesn’t have depth for the Word to take root (5-6, 12, 20-21) The divided heart chokes out the Word with worldly cares (7, 22) But, the pure heart bears much fruit (8, 23) Ask, for hearing ears must be given to you (9, 11, 16)
