Overview: Why have you been so wise? Who is Qohelet? (1:1, 12, 16, 12:9, Pr. 1:1, 1 Ki. 4:32, 2 Chr. 1:12) Solomon’s Surpassing Wisdom (1:16, 10:12, 12:10, 1 Kings 4:29-30, c.f. 2 Chronicles 1:7-12) The vanity of wisdom: it can’t fix what’s broken (1:12-18, c.f. 7:13, 29, Gen 3:17-18, Prov. 9:10) But, wisdom is better than folly (2:12-14a, Is. 59:9-10) Yet, the same happens to all (2:12-21, Ps. 127, Pr. 13:22) What are you using Christ, the Wisdom of God, for? (2:26, 1 Cor. 1:30, 2:16)
