Overview: God’s Word is never just for “them, then” but always for “us, now”! Our Father Abraham was called from the Chaldeans to believe the Promises (2-8, 2 Ki. 24:2, Josh. 24:2-3, Heb. 11:13) Our Fathers the Patriarchs were jealous and opposed their savior Joseph (9-16) Our Fathers the Children of Abraham rejected their savior Moses (17-36) Though promised one like Him, Our Fathers turned to idolatry (37-43, Amos 5:25-27) Our Fathers knew the Temple patterned something greater (44-50, Heb. 8:5, 9:1-14, 1 Ki. 8:27) Are you stiff necked, uncircumcised, resisting the Spirit? (51-53)
