Overview: If you are not firm in your faith, you will not be firm at all. God has placed you in a covenant context. (1-2, 13, 17, 2 Sam. 7:10-16, 1 Ki. 11:11) And yet, your trials test your faith by shaking you. (2, 5-6) Still, God calls you to firm faith. (3-4, 7-9, 2 Ki. 16:9, 17:24) And the only alternative to firm faith is the wretchedness of unbelief. (10-13, 2 Ki. 16:3-8) God warns [all of] you of the wrath to come. (14-25, 36:2) And yet there is hope, you can be firm only by faith in God's promised Son (3, Matt. 1:23)
