Overview: God showed in the altar and blood we must worship Him His way! In order to give blood of the covenant, God commissioned an altar (20:24, 21:1, 24:4-8) The people washed their clothes only to be sprinkled by blood (19:10, 14; 24:8, Heb. 9:19-22, Gen. 9:4, 15:7-21) God has spoken, therefore don’t worship as idolaters do (22-23) Therefore worship His way (24-26) God’s preferences in worship don’t match ours (24a, 25b-26, 28:42) The blood and the altar point us to the Gospel of grace (Is. 53:2-3, 1 Pet. 2:4-5)
