Overview: God gave just laws that we might love Him and our neighbor Why did God include such an improbable case? (21:22-25, Gen. 4:23-24) God gave just laws which limited human vengeance (18:21, 25, 21:22-25, Gen. 4:23-24) God’s law not only punished, but made restitution (21:19, 27, 30, 34, 22:5, Prov. 13:15) But, what about crimes that could not be repaid? (21:12-23, Gen. 9:5-6, Mt. 15:4, Heb. 10:28-31) But, law cannot fix the human heart (Mt. 5:38-42)
