Overview: God’s name is upon you; don’t take Him in vain! What does it mean to take something in vain? (Ps. 41:7, Job 7:3, 35:13, Ps. 127:1-2) God is concerned for His name. (7b) Name includes Reputation (Ex. 32:12-13, Ez. 20:9, 36:22, Is. 48:9-11) What ways do we sinfully “take the name of the Lᴏʀᴅ” on our lips? What does it mean to “take the name of your God”? (Matt. 28:19, John 17:6, 11, 26, Lev. 19:11) If His name is upon you; how then ought you to live? (Mark 13:13, Lev. 19:11-12, Rom. 5:6)
